Kim grew up in Jarvisburg, NC, and was baptized at the Jarvisburg Church of Christ in 1986, where she has been an active member ever since. Kim has two adult daughters, two grandsons, and one granddaughter.

He is a graduate of Mid-Atlantic Christian University, earning a B.A. in Youth and Family Ministries. He met his wife, Abby, at college, and they have been married since 2019; they have one son

Mrs. Pittman has worked with children for 27 years through work as a nanny, daycare worker, arts and craft director for Sharon United Methodist Church, JCA afterschool director, JCA Substitute Teacher, and full-time JCA teacher for various elementary-aged classes. Mrs. Pittman is a trained interior designer and loves crafting.
1st Grade and Enrichment
Mrs. Poplos has a wealth of academic and teaching experience. She is an NC Licensed teacher with over 24 years of teaching experience. She has 3 Masters degrees and one graduate certificate in education (Wilmington University and Liberty University). Mrs. Poplos has a passion for teaching and instilling Christ-centered character in her students.

Mrs. Schmidt is originally from Pittsburg, PA where she earned an Associate Degree for Specialized Business in Secretarial Science Studies from the ICM School of Business. Mrs. Schmidt has years of entrepreneurial experience in pet services and recent educational experience as a teacher assistant with Currituck Public Schools.
3rd Grade
Ms. Voliva is entering her 3rd year at JCA and previously worked as the Care Manager for the Alzheimer's unit at Gates House in Gatesville, NC. She is also continuing her education at Liberty University for Elementry Education.

Ms. Coleman grew up on the Outer Banks of NC and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Liberty University with a Bachelor's in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She has spent many years teaching and guiding children through daycares, foster parenting, working with the YMCA, homeschooling her children, and teaching at Nags H

Ms. Coleman loves history, literature, and teaching kids about Jesus.

Mrs. Taylor has over 29 years of teaching experience in NC. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Education from Longwood College and a Master of Arts in Reading Curriculum from Grand Canyon University. Mrs. Taylor is also heavily involved with children's and music ministry along with her husband Adam at Powells Point Baptist Church in Currituck, NC.

Mr. Marler is a Currituck native and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from UNC Charlotte with a concentration in Creative Writing. This is his 3rd year at JCA and is a passionate hockey fan.

Mrs Hillsman was born and raised in Lower Currituck. Soon after graduating high school, she married and decided to pursue a career in healthcare. She completed the Associate Degree Nursing program at the College of the Albemarle, after passing the state boards and obtaining an RN license she was hired on a step-down unit at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, where she has worked as a floor nurse over the last 9 years. She is passionate about Jesus, her family, and educating young people.
Art
Mrs. O'Sullivan has a long history and passion for Art. She has previously taught youth art at Scarborough Faire in Duck and the Historic Whalehead Museum in Corolla. Mrs. O'Sullivan also has professional experience in photography, videography, post-production, and advertising. She loves teaching art and stage production to children as well as a passion for teaching Jesus.

Mrs. Debbie has long served both JCA and Jarvisburg Church of Christ in various roles. Mrs. Debbie is a veteran, serving many years in the Navy, where she learned to be a hospital corpsman.
